Ars et praxis
Ars et praxis is an annual periodical of scientific articles published by the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LAMT) featuring papers on musicology, theatre studies and pedagogy, as well as other humanities and sociology orientated papers related to art research. The publication’s title refers primarily to the textbook by Žygimantas Liauksminas (1596/7–1670), Ars et praxis musica (1667). This work, starting with the words “Musica,
ars inter liberales nobilissima” (Music, the most noble of the liberal arts) marked the beginning of Lithuanian musicology.
